Made in the USA at certified mints, this legal recreation of the famous Morgan silver dollar is struck from 1 troy oz of 99.9% pure silver. It has purer silver and a more silver content than the original Morgan!

The original Morgan Silver Dollar was a US dollar currency that was struck from 1878 to 1904, and then again in 1921. The Morgan Dollar was created as a result of the massive amount of silver produced by the Comstock Lode in Nevada. The Morgan Silver Dollar coin is named after the famous Assistant Engraver at the US Mint in 1878, George T. Morgan. Following the termination of the seated liberty pattern in 1873 due to the Coinage Act of 1873, the Morgan dollar silver coin became the first standardized silver dollar.

The obverse of this round captures George T. Morgan’s design in sharp detail. Lady Liberty wears a Phrygian cap with LIBERTY emblazoned across the headband. She wears a cockade of corn and cotton, the two main crops of America in the 19th century. The reverse show the American Eagle in a wreath of laurel. The reverse is where we find the difference in design between this round and the original Morgan dollar: the purity of “.999 Fine Silver” is inscribed between the outstretched wings of the eagle, and the face value of One Dollar on the lower border is replaced with “One Troy Oz.”
