In 2010, the United States Mint introduced a landmark coin program celebrating America’s most treasured national parks, monuments, and forests. Authorized by Congress under the America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008, this series honors the natural beauty and historic landmarks that define the nation.
Commonly referred to as the America the Beautiful (ATB) series, this program consists of 56 unique coin designs. Between 2010 and 2020, the U.S. Mint released five new designs each year, followed by a single final release in 2021. The complete series represents all 50 U.S. states, five U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. Coins were released in the order of the historical establishment of the featured park, monument, or forest.
Each year’s coins were struck by both the Philadelphia Mint and the Denver Mint, and were produced in multiple formats, including bullion, uncirculated, and proof varieties. When ordering, designs, mint marks, and finishes are selected at random based on current inventory.

The state or territory is listed to the left of the date, while the historic inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” appears to the right.
