The unique serial number for each South Africa gold bar is inscribed at the bottom. These serial number codes start with an alphabet RR followed by a six-digit numeric code.
The reverse side of 100 gram Gold Rand Refinery features a repeating horizontal pattern of a parent elephant leading an elephant calf holding onto its tail with another parent walking behind them. The elephant inscribed on the gold bar is “Loxodonta” which is the genus of the African elephant.
