Spot is the market price of one troy ounce of raw metal. We show it as the Ask: the price level dealers quote for buying (markets move every second). A coin or bar costs a little more than the metal in it, for minting and distribution. That extra is the premium, measured here over the Ask; the lower it is, the more of your money goes into metal.
